Indonesia and Turkey Strengthen Strategic Partnership in the UAV Industry through Joint Venture Agreement
Jakarta, February 12, 2025 – Indonesia and Türkiye have entered a new era of strategic defense cooperation with the signing of a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) between Baykar Makina and PT Republikorp (Republik Korpora Indonesia). The signing ceremony was witnessed by President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, and President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, rearming both nations' commitment to strengthening the defense industry through local manufacturing and technology transfer. Republikorp is working on a Bullpup Type Assault Rifle
Republikorp is collaborating with Milkor from the United Arab Emirates (EUA) to develop the Unmanned Combatant Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) 380 combat drone. The plan is for this technology to be adopted in the country and ready to be produced within the next year. According to Republikorp founder Norman Joesoef, his party is very enthusiastic about bringing this technology to Tanar Air. "This collaboration will certainly expand the capabilities of the Indonesian defense industry in the field of combat drones, as well as increase our competitiveness in the military field," said Norman quoted on Friday, 24 February 2023. The UCAV 380 is a Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) combat drone that can fly for more than 36 hours, with a range of 2,000 km and a wingspan of 19m. Some of its advantages include intelligence action, surveillance, target acquisition, reconnaissance, and weapons such as air-to-ground precision missiles. CSG and Republikorp are developing the ADS-400 Air Defense Missile
The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic visited Indonesia, Jakarta to meet President Joko Widodo. In this meeting, strategic issues such as education, defense, and renewable energy were discussed as the main discussion. During this visit, the Czech Prime Minister's delegation also attended the 2023 Indonesian-Czech Business Forum which was held at the Kempinski Hotel, Jakarta on April 18 2022. This forum was also attended by businessmen from Prague and representatives from KADIN. In this forum, before the Czech Prime Minister YM Petr Fiala, the Czechoslovak Group and Republikorp Indonesia signed a Strategic cooperation agreement in the joint production of the ADS-400 Intermediate Air Defense Missile Complex in order to resume cooperation in the field of defense equipment development. ADS-400 is an air defense missile complex equipped with: Missiles Launcher Radar Detection Range up to 470km Missile range up to 100km This missile system is used as a weapon system to protect an area from attack by fifth-generation aircraft, helicopters, UAVs and cruise missiles.
